Microsoft Now Offering To Screw You Over For a Mere $99
According to a report last week, Microsoft was planning to release a Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle for $99 with a monthly subscription fee for Xbox Live for two years. This sounded all fine and dandy until the details surfaced through a voucher on the official Microsoft site discovered by The Verge.
The 'deal' is that you're able to go to any participating retailer and fork over a mere $99 in exchange for a 4GB Xbox 360, Kinect and 24 months of Xbox Live gold membership at $14.99 a month.
Now let's really think about this for a moment. I see the appeal to being able to get an Xbox with Kinect and two years of Live for $100 but the payments you're making throughout the next two years doesn't exactly justify what you're receiving in return. This bundle adds up to $458.67 while buying the regular Kinect bundle and membership separately add up to much less...and that's assuming you can't manage to find one of Microsoft's many deals on Xbox Live Memberships.
Doesn't sound like such a great deal but that's a typical move that does actually seem to fool enough people for it to continue being used to this very day. Currently this is only available in the US so I'm safe up here in Canada...for now.
