Michigan Football Recruit Burns Ohio State Letter – Receives Threats
Here's another example of why student-athletes should think a little before they tweet. Logan Tuley-Tillman is committed to play football for Michigan, so he thought it would show some loyalty (I guess) if he burned a recruiting letter he received from Ohio State and tweeted the picture.
Obviously, this didn't go over well with Ohio State fans. They reacted with taunts and even some death threats. Tuley-Tillman though, according to ESPN.com via Wolverinenation.com, isn't sweating it.
The offensive tackle said the reactions have made his mother upset, but he didn't seem to concerned.
I get that society is about instant gratification now and that athletes use Twitter and Facebook to get themselves, their schools and their teams publicity, but this kid should've thought a little bit more before doing this.
In reality, it's harmless needling of a rival, but burning that letter was probably like burning the flag to OSU fans. Tuley-Tillman won't even be at Michigan until 2013, so hopefully this will be long forgotten about by then but in rivalries like Michigan/Ohio State, it probably won't be forgotten at all.
