Bioshock Infinite Delayed Until 2013, Not Coming to E3
In a double kick to the gonads today, 2K Games has announced that the latest title from Irrational Games, Bioshock Infinite, has officially been delayed until February 26, 2013. It hurts, I know, but we can get through this together.
The game was originally slated for a October, 2011 release but obviously that didn't happen.
Well Mr. Levine definitely knows how to bandage up a fresh wound. He went on to reinforce the idea of the delay being a good thing stating that, 'it means a bit more waiting, but more importantly, it means an even better BioShock Infinite. The great can be made greater, and we owe it to both ourselves and to you, our fans, to take this opportunity.'
You can read more of Ken Levine's message to the fans over at the official Bioshock Infinite website, where he also announces that Irrational Games will not be bringing Bioshock Infinite to E3 2012, stating that 'preparing for these events takes time away from development, time we’re going to use instead to get the best version of Infinite into your hands in February.'
The way I see it, it's always better to have a game delayed for quality purposes rather than released early for the sake of just getting it out the door.
