Benedict Cumberbatch Discusses ‘Star Trek 2′
Star Trek 2 has been in production now for just under 4 months and with almost all of the original cast returning for JJ Abrams latest opus, excitement is rife for the film's return. But alongside the "Trekkie" regulars, the Lost creator has added Alice Eve, Noel Clarke, Peter Weller and Benedict Cumberbatch to the movie with the latter set to play the villain.
Cumberbatch has been discussing his role in the new film with Comingsoon.net and how much he has had to beef up for it. "I've gone up two suit sizes," he says, "The character I'm playing, he's strong. I can say that much. I've changed my physique a bit, so that requires eating like a foie gras goose, well beyond your appetite."
He went on to add "Providing I don't feel too ill. I then work out two hours a day with a phenomenal trainer. It's the LA way."
Chris Pine has also been discussing the film saying that "Of course I'm gonna tell you I think it's gonna be better. You pick up the characters from where they let off and the development of the characters, I think, is just as exciting as the first one ... And it's relentless. I think that's the best adjective I can use." Relentless? Sounds promising.
Star Trek 2 will be released on May 17th 2013.
