The NFL denied New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton's appeal of his one year suspension after the 'Bountygate' scandal. General manager Mickey Loomis and assistant coach Joe Vitt also had their appeals denied, according to FoxSports.com.
Commissioner Roger Goodell heard the appeals last week, but was also the one who handed down the punishments, so the denials aren't really that big of a surprise.
Goodell suspended the three men after the Saints were found to have been running an illegal bounty program where players were rewarded financially for taking opposing players out of games, under former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Williams has been suspended indefinitely and will reportedly not appeal that decision.
