The news that Anchorman 2 is on the horizon was such a seismic event that it made Neil Armstrong's stroll on the moon seem like a walk in the park. The return of the Channel 4 news team made grown men weep openly in the street and some were even so delirious that they drank a lava lamp. It wasn't lava.
But now the waiting game must begin but the co-writer and director of 2004's Anchorman has been talking to Salon.com about some potential exploits for the sequel and there could even be the pit patter of Burgundy feet on the horizon.
When asked what Burgundy might be up to in the new film McKay said "I don't want to give away too much, but I'll just give a couple pieces of ideas that we've kicked around. Keep in mind we're still writing the story, but I'll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I'll give you that. I'll give you one other one: bowling for dollars."
McKay continues to discuss several of his and Ferrell's other projects throughout the interview but this was the only dose of news he had to reveal regarding Burgundy, Fantana, Tamland, Corningstone and Kind. Fingers crossed Veronica, Ron and their offspring are travelling the country as a family band.
