Panasonic’s Million Dollar 152-inch Plasma TV is For the Filthy Rich
When we were kids, we were asked one too many times: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" As teenagers about to graduate high school, most people would ask: "What's your college major?" And now that we're all part of the working class, the (literally) million dollar question is: "What would you do if you had a million dollars?"
I honestly wouldn't know what I'd do if I had that much money in the bank, but one thing I know I wouldn't do is blow it all on this 152-inch Panasonic plasma television. Yes, you read that right. I didn't fudge up those numbers: the television is that huge (did I say 152 inches?) and it's really that expensive (around $958,000.)
Panasonic's TH-152UX1W is as luxurious as luxury items get. Its screen is roughly the size of nine 50" TV sets stacked in a three-by-three grid. The television weighs a whopping 1,200 pounds and is the manufacturer's first commercially available 4K2K display. As expected, it occupies the higher end of the up-and-coming 4K TV standard and is capable of displaying a resolution of 4,096 x 2,160 pixels.
It's also a 3D TV, too. I mean, it better be, for the price that you're paying for it. For anyone who's interested, the Panasonic TH-152UX1W is now on sale in UK-based luxury goods store Harrods for £600,000.
Now tell me, what would you spend a million bucks on?
