Jessica Simpson Steals the Sydney Spotlight from Ashlee Simpson

I just love passive aggressive sibling rivalry. Well, not personally, but it's fun to watch in the guise of international celebrity gossip. What's funny here is that while Ashlee Simpson was set to have the spotlight to herself as the host at the MTV Australian Video Music Awards, her sister Jessica Simpson, has just arrived in Sydney, as a last-minute addition to the show, reports The Age.

American entertainer Jessica Simpson has arrived in Australia as a last minute guest for this week's MTV Australian Video Music Awards.

The singer/actress, whose sister Ashlee Simpson is hosting the event in Sydney on Wednesday night, arrived on an early morning Qantas flight from Los Angeles.

She was ushered through a VIP customs exit, greeted by around a dozen photographers and television camera crews.

"I'm so excited. It's been so long since I've been here," the 25-year-old said.

Organisers would not say what role Simpson would have in the MTV event, which will be held at Sydney's Olympic Park on Wednesday.

But the starlet, who was wearing a white jacket, ripped jeans and brown cowboy boots, said she was looking forward to seeing her sister.

"I can't wait to see her."

Yeah, "I can't wait to see her..." and rub it in her face! Everyone knows that Ashlee Simpson doesn't hold a candle to Jessica Simpson when it comes to stealing the spotlight. Jessica is by far the bigger star, so you know that Ashlee is probably having a fit back in her hotel room. And I bet that Jessica's hotel room is bigger too.
